Today and really, this week, has been such a wonderful time of reconnecting.
I finally got back in touch with my sweet grandmother this morning when I woke up. I had been repeatedly calling her over the last couple of months and had been unable to get her on the phone. Today I finally got to talk to her and reestablish conversation about how she is doing and what is happening in her world. She was so very pleased to report that she had been winning Bingo and prizes at the senior center. So cute!! I miss her so bad but it was so great to talk to her and hear her smile...
After that wonderful conversation, I got the chance to tell my mother more about what I am doing at my job and what's happening with our house. I never realized how much I want to make her proud until moving away from Tennessee. She is coming here to Florida for my birthday in 3 weeks and I can't wait to see her!!!! I can't wait to show her everything that's changed for us since she was here last...
Michael and I then went to our favorite little taco place in Port Charlotte, Taco Del Mar, for lunch. We have made this place our weekly dose of mexican food so we have gotten to know the staff really well. Our sweet friend/tacoista (as opposed to barista) was there today and I think we will be trying to hang out with her more socially!!! Yay! We always could use more friends!
I also reconnected with a special part of my spiritual self this week since I was asked to help lead an acoustic worship service this week for All Saints Day at Grace Church on the island in Venice. Acoustic contemporary worship is SO close to my heart. I am singing with the worship leader, Jon, who has a great voice and plays acoustic beautifully. We are singing some amazing, intimate praise and worship songs. Jon told me he wants to have a lot of candles everywhere for the service. I think it will be awesome! You should come check it out if you are in the area.
I know that I had written before about how my life had slowed down since moving to Florida. God has definitely been hearing my prayers about that since I am now juggling a new job, being active in our church, making time for our marriage, finishing up stuff for purchasing our house so we can close, and trying to make new friends along the way!
Such blessings are welcome and I can't wait to see what He has planned next...
